Fiddle-&-Wiggle is one of our newest additions to HeartStrings Academy for ages 3-6 with a caregiver. We’d love to encourage you and your kiddo to join!
This program is a group music class for the budding musician and designed to be a FUN/SOCIAL/EASY intro to violin and fiddle (which might lead to a desire for private lessons!) Whether or not you have taken our infant Sing-&-Wiggle classes with your little one–this is the next step.
In Fiddle-&-Wiggle, child and caregiver will each be given a violin to use in class. Since there is no violin at home at first, there’s no pressure to practice daily. Parents will be encouraged to joyously play recordings of violin music and music videos at home as well as to “stoke the fire” with fun violin/music activities, creating a family ritual of joyfully engaging in music daily and setting the stage for “daily joyful practice.”
We’re also setting the stage for those that may want to rent or buy a violin (for the child and/or parent), with the understanding that bringing a violin home means making plans and space in the family’s home and life for a short and easy amount of daily joyful practice.
Hopefully, we’ll start a handful of families this season that can enjoy music together through the years, as we did here in Lewisburg about 10 years ago!
